In “Love and Prejudice” we present a collection of songs, cantatas and instrumental pieces from the English baroque. The listeners will be taken on a journey, exploring Love from multiple and varied points of view: A man complaining about his lover’s frowns, an innocent maid, discovering for the first time what is it that lovers do, and a shepherdess who has got her lover completely wrapped around her little finger.
These are but a few of the little stories of Love and Prejudice, each one charming in its own particular way, and all of them apparently much less innocent then we would expect from old English songs…
Nari Baroque Ensemble is a group of young Israeli musicians who specialize in the performance of early music on period instruments and with historical performance practices, to create a fresh and compelling experience for the modern listener. The ensemble was conceived by the winners of the 2019 Israeli Recorder Competition: Yael Tishler and Naomi Hassoun, and includes also Liron Givoni (Soprano), Yotam Haran (cello), and Guy Pardo (harpsichord).
