    Event Info

Photographer and writer Roni Aviv engages with reality trough a delicate filter that takes note of nuances and fine details. Her subtle perspective of life give her lens a high resolution that is not defined by technology but rather by her emotional sensitivity and detail oriented gaze.

In the exhibition, Aviv refers to the hallway of the House of Words Gallery space with the same respect and sensitivity of a house-proud resident. Her photos become part of the space, as if they were always there. In them, dark shadows of household plants; these portraits are shown in small, black metal frames, the kind you would find holding family photos or memories from a special trip. The portraits have a chance to reveal themselves as native dwellers in the space, accustomed to be looked at, like distinguished members of a usual bourgeoisie family.

At the center of the exhibition, Aviv placed a large real life scale photo of an entrance door, similar to the real ones that surround it, adding to the feeling of troubling familiarity
