Smalls Jazz Club Featuring The Eli Degibri Quartet

If you often find yourself bummed out, for having missed one of those magical Small's nights, then you will want to set your calendar, alarms, SIRI, Alexa, Stephanie or whatever other helpful reminders you can think of. This is not a night to miss. On March 5, The Eli Degibri quartet descends on the best Jazz club in the universe, Smalls to pay tribute to the legendary Hank Mobley. To so many Jazz lovers worldwide, Smalls is where it all begins and where it ends. It is one of NYC's Jazz landmarks where the progression of jazz meets the tradition.

Known for his charismatic performances, Degibri has recorded and performed extensively since the mid-1990s. He has been called, “an exceptionally melodic improviser with a big, bold tenor tone” (Bill Milkowski, JazzTimes), and “a bewitching fellow who shows impressive chops, as both a player and a composer.” (Karl Stark, The Philadelphia Inquirer). Jazz icon Herbie Hancock added that Degibri is, “a very talented composer, arranger, and performer,” one who’s music, “treads uncharted waters,” and that the saxophonist-composer, “has the potential to be a formidable force in the evolution of jazz.”
