Wearing Photography: Performance by Guy Aon at JCC Manhattan

The audience in Guy Aon's lecture will enjoy a live demonstration of the technique with four performers

In Wearing Photography, Guy Aon invites the audience to get to know and experiment with an innovative technique, which allows to print photographs over the human body by dissolving a special photographic paper in water. The audience will enjoy a live demonstration of the technique with four performers; have a chance to experiment with this technique themselves; and learn about the potential applications of this method in the industries of fashion, aesthetics medicine, and face-recognition.

Guy Aon's current work is the result of a long research process where art, industrial design, and science intersect. He uses art and photography as an inspiration to think of the ways in which images can be turned into objects: pictures can be touched, dressed, used as filters; bodies can be worn.

“Wearing Photography,” has been previously featured at the Jerusalem Art Conference at the Van Leer Institute (2020), the Holon Museum of Design (2020), The Israeli Center For Digital Art(2020), Reshet 13 news (2020), the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation (2020), and at Rosenfeld Gallery (2021).
