Nir Rom Nagy

Israeli born, Nir Rom Nagy studied with Judith Markos and Uri Lavi in Kiryat Tivon, and Zvi Carmeli and Chaim Taub in the Buchmann Mehta School of Music Tel-Aviv. Nir won the 2012 Chamber Music Competition in this school, and the Public Prize and Honorary Mention in the 2016 Aviv competitions in Tel-Aviv. He served in the Israel Army’s Outstanding Musician Unit. Nir attended masterclasses with Ivry Gitlis, Françoise Gnéri, Hartmut Rohde, Atar Arad, Gilad Karni, Martin Outram, Roland Glassl, Miguel da Silva and Shmuel Ashkenasi.
He is studying for a Master’s of Music in Leipzig University for Music and Theatre, taught by Tatjana Masurenko. Nir is a recipient of scholarships from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and the America-Israel Cultural Foundation. He plays a Zygmuntowicz viola on loan from the AICF collection.
