Mourning the Loss of Ronit Elkabetz

The Israeli and the international film community mourns the loss of actress, filmmaker and women’s rights activist Ronit Elkabetz.

Elkabetz was active in Israel and in Europe, and is the recipient of 3 Ophir Awards for Best Actress, for Sh’Chur, Late Marriage and The Band’s Visit. Her film Gett: The Trial of Viviane Amsalem, won the Ophir Award for Best Film in 2014.

Elkabetz was 51 at the time of her death, after a long struggle with cancer.
