Natanel Bikov Accepted as a Member of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra
AICF recipient, trombonist Natanel Bikov has been accepted to the Israeli philharmonic orchestra as a 2nd/3rd trombone player. His audition was held in the end of June, with 9 other candidates.
The challenging audition included two rounds. In the first, candidates were asked to play behind a screen so the jury could not recognize them. Natanel played the first movement of the David trombone concerto, followed by a variety of known trombone excerpts.
Four candidates remained for the second round. Each was asked to play along with the low brass section of trombones and tuba. Natanel Bikov was the successful candidate.
Natanel: “I am more than happy to be a part of such an amazing orchestra under the musical direction of Maestro Lahav Shani, and with an amazing low brass section which includes Nir Erez, the principal trombone player, Tal Ben-Rei, the assistant principal trombone player, Micha Davis, the bass trombone player and Itai Agmon, the tuba player.
I want to thank AICF for supporting me over the years and helping me develop and become the player I am today”.
