Jochewed Schwarz
Jochewed Schwarz is an Israeli harpsichordist, clavichordist, and fortepianist whose repertoire spans early-17th-century keyboard and chamber music through early-19th-century works, alongside contemporary pieces written for her. She performs regularly in Israel and across Europe, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. She appears in duo settings - DuoChord with Irish harpsichordist Emer Buckley, and a collaboration with British flautist and recorder player Ashley Solomon; concerts and recordings in these line-ups have been warmly received by audiences and critics. Schwarz studied at the Rubin Academy of Music (Tel Aviv University) and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel and is completing her Ph.D. in musicology at the University of Haifa. She also holds an LL.B. from Bar-Ilan University and is a qualified lawyer and mediator. Her recordings include award-winning Telemann flute sonatas, DuoChord’s Bach and Couperin projects, and, most recently, J. C. F. Bach sonatas with Ashley Solomon (Meridian, 2024).
