Elad Schechter
Born in Jerusalem in 1978, Elad is the son of an electricity constructor and a pensioner of Hadassah hospital. He is a graduate of the Jerusalem High School for the Arts. After which he served in the IDF Theater department and danced in various companies, among them: Senedance NYC, the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, Charleroi Danses Brussels, Vertigo (Jerusalem) and De De Dance (Tel Aviv).
Elad Schechter has been creating dance pieces since 2009 and, in 2012, he founded the c.a.t.a.m.o.n Dance Group in Jerusalem.
Over the years Schechter has created, produced and curated the following projects: ‘From Jaffa to Agripas’ Festival, which has presented many evenings between the years 2014 and 2017; ‘Alliance House’, a home for creative communities, led by ‘New Spirit’ organization; ‘Dance in Mazaya’, A series of double-bill dance performances presented at ‘Beit Mazia Theater’ in Jerusalem.
Shechter is the recipient of the silver medal at the International Choreography Competition held in Beijing, in July 2011 as well as an AICF scholarship.
