Elay Kadosh

Elay Kadosh was born, raised, and has been living and studying in Tel Aviv, Israel. At the age of 13, after listening to a Paul Chambers record, Elay fell head over heels in love with this music and began playing the double bass. He studied jazz at the ‘Alef’ City High School of Arts in Tel Aviv. At the same time, Elay studied privately with Barak Mori and Eli Magen from the Israel Philharmonic – one of Israel’s top and highly regarded jazz and classical bass players.
Elay has been selected by the IDF to do his military service in the ‘Excellence Program’, an exclusive status reserved for a handful of top musical talents.
In 2015 he won a scholarship for Young Jazz musicians at the ‘Red Sea Jazz Festival’ workshop. He also received scholarships for young and promising artists of distinguished excellence from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, three different times, between the years 2016-2021.
In 2018 Elay won the ALMA contest award for Excellent Jazz Player.
In 2020 Elay was accepted into the 2020 JAS (Jazz Aspen Snowmass) academy in collaboration with the Frost School of Music, University of Miami full-scholarship summer program, under the guidance of Maestro Christian McBride.
Also in 2020, Elay was accepted into The New School jazz program, with a full scholarship, where he currently is studying.
Elay is working on his debut EP, including original music.
