Itay Dayan

Itay was born in 1999 in Israel. He studied classical music at the “Thelma Yellin” High School in Givatayim, where he graduated with excellence. He has studied clarinet with Gilad Harel at the Kiryat Ono Conservatory and is currently studying with Mr. Harel at the Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance, where he is expected to graduate. In the fall of 2022, Itay will attend the New England Conservatory for his Master of Music at the Contemporary Improvisation department.
During his studies in Israel Itay has won scholarships from the America Israel Cultural Foundation, Maccabim Foundation, the Ronen Foundation and the Ima foundation. Notably, the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund has greatly assisted Itay in his pursuance of his studies abroad. Additionally, Itay won the Dean of the performance department award at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance for the year 2021. He was a member of the Young Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra and the David Goldman Program for Outstanding Young Musicians at the Jerusalem Music Center. Itay has played with various ensembles including Meitar Ensemble, the BE Phil orchestra (under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle) and the Tel Aviv Wind Ensemble with which he played at the Bayreuth Young Artists Festival.
On top of that, Itay is an active Musician in different musical fields. He has played at the productions of Fiddler on the Roof and Cabaret at the Goodman School of Theater and he is a leading member of the Israel Klezmer Orchestra and the Tel Aviv Klezmer Ensemble.
