Jerusalem Season of Culture
Jerusalem Season of Culture
The Jerusalem Season of Culture is an independent non-profit that was created in 2011, to share the city’s extraordinary but often overlooked cultural life with the world. Each summer we create a schedule of original, city-specific events that traverse and integrate artistic disciplines such as music, dance, theatre, performance, culinary art and more.
Since its inception, the Season has created events such as the In-House Festival, Contact Point, Under the Mountain and the Jerusalem Sacred Music Festival, which etched themselves into the city’s cultural calendar.
The Season’s work generated thousands of articles about Jerusalem’s art scene in premier local and international media outlets, numerous awards and accolades for artistic quality and innovation, commissioned dozens of original works from renowned and up-and-coming artists alike, hosted thousands of VIP guests from around the world on Jerusalem culture tours and championed Jerusalem’s image as a vibrant cultural center.
The Jerusalem Sacred Music Festival was named one of the most important music festivals in the world by Songlines Magazine, the international authority on World Music, and the Season as a whole received the “Special Event of the Year” award by Ahbar Ha’ir, the Haaretz Magazine for urban culture.
