Lev Leibman

Rabbi Lev Leibman is an independent artist, ordained rabbi, and a pioneering voice in the revival of Jewish sacred music. He is the founder and artistic director of Shirat HaLeviim, a groundbreaking project that brings the ancient music of the Levites from the Temple to life through live performance, immersive education, and scholarly publications.

A classically trained flutist and recorder player, he began his formal music education at the Gnessin Conservatory in Moscow and later at the Tel Aviv Music Conservatory. At 17, he represented Israel in an international recorder competition (1999) and has since developed a rich career that bridges Chasidic spiritual depth with the expressive power of music.

Rabbi Leibman performs regularly across Jewish communities worldwide. His signature concerts — including Music of 3,000 Years and Shirat HaBeriah — blend performance, narrative, and cultural revival. His upcoming book, Shirat HaLeviim, distills decades of research into the Levitical tradition and explores its relevance for contemporary spiritual seekers.
