Lior Michel Virot

Lior Michel Virot was born in Zurich, Switzerland. He started his oboe training in the Municipal Conservatory of Netanya (Israel) at the age of 11 with Boris Banti. He later studied with Boris Baev in 2009 . Today Lior is a student in the Buchmann Mehta school of Music and the student of Dudu Carmel.
Lior started to play classical music mainly in the Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (YIPO) where he played for 5 years . Today He often performs with other orchestras such as the Haifa symphony orchestra , Israel Chamber orchestra and recently with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra with maestro Zubin Mehta.
As much as he likes to play oboe, Lior loves to play the English Horn and was invited several times to play big English Horn solos in orchestras, one of them is an international orchestra in Shanghai, China; The Shanghai international Youth Orchestra. Lior participated in competitions organized by the AICF and won Merit scholarship since 2011
