Matan Chapnizky

Matan Chapnizky is a jazz musician and educator. At the Israel Conservatory of Music Tel-Aviv ("Shtriker") he serves as head of jazz studies program in collaboration with The New School in New York, director of the national jazz program for gifted youth in partnership with the Ministry of Education, and artistic director of "Jazz From Here" concert series. His podcast has over 50 episodes and more than 72,000 downloads. Chapnizky composes and plays saxophone, synthesizers, and looper in the electronic jazz duo CHACO-04 with his musical partner Adam Cohen. He is a member of various steering and talent-scouting committees for the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education. Married with four children, he resides in Tel Aviv.
