Maya Sapiro-Taien
A singer who was born, raised and lives in Jerusalem.
A graduate of the Academy of Music and Dance High School, the Department of Theater and Musicology at the Hebrew University and the Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem.
In 2018, she created the show "Pirate Jenny: A Recital Performance of 20th Century Music."
In 2021, the song "Alabama Song" from the show was filmed for a music video that won first place at several film festivals in Israel and around the world.
In 2024, Maya received support from the Lottery Fund for Culture and the Arts for the creation of the project "Songs of War and Grief," which includes the creation and recording of three narrative video clips for three songs written during the two world wars. The project is currently being published.
