Neil Braverman
Neil Braverman is a pianist, harpsichordist and keyboard player currently based in the Netherlands. He holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, where he studied with Dr. Ofra Yitzhaki. Neil completed his early studies with Prof. Arnon Erez and Prof. Asaf Zohar, and was fortunate to study for several years under the renowned piano pedagogue Hanna Shalgi, one of the leading figures in Israeli piano pedagogy. He is a member of the Artist Enhancement Programme at the Davidsbündler Music Academy in The Hague and pursues advanced chamber music training at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he works in a piano trio setting.
Braverman is a First Prize winner of the Mi-La-Si Competition and a Second Prize winner of the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music Chamber Music Competition. He has participated in masterclasses, festivals and intensive musical projects with internationally renowned musicians and pedagogues, including Boris Berman, Zakharia Plavin, Dora Schwarzberg, Kati Debretzeni, Claudius Tanski, Einav Yarden, David Dolan, Daniel Rubinstein and others. He is a scholarship recipient of the IACF and Ronen Foundation, and has received scholarships for excellence from Tel Aviv University and the Rotary Foundation.
A versatile pianist with a particular interest in the breadth of the keyboard repertoire, Braverman's work ranges from early Baroque music to contemporary music, combining major works of the repertoire with rarely performed and rediscovered music. Alongside the modern piano, he performs on historical keyboard instruments, including harpsichord and fortepiano, and his artistic activity encompasses solo performance, chamber music, collaborative piano and historically informed performance. During his studies, he also served as a continuo player in Kati Debretzeni's Baroque Knights of Tel Aviv Ensemble.
Braverman has performed in concert halls and festivals in Israel and across Europe, including the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Arts Euro Festival in Germany, Villa in Musica Festival in Italy, the Arad Piano Festival and the international TARF Festival. His current work in the Netherlands continues to centre on chamber music, artistic development and performance, alongside his work as a piano teacher at Concertino Musiekonderwijs Amsterdam.
He began his musical studies at age 7 with Ella Levin at the Jordan Valley Music Centre. During his military service, he was granted the status of Outstanding Musician.
