Omer Idan

Omer Idan was born in 1996 in Israel. Omer was studying with Michael Lam, Meirav Kadishevsky and Dudu Carmel. In July 2014, she graduated from the Thelma Yellin High School of Arts and The David Goldman Programm of Mishkenot Sha’ananim Music Center. Between the years 2011-2014 she played in the Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Omer participated in masterclasses with Maurice Bourgue, Emanuel Abbuhl, Jean-Louis Capezzali, David Walter and Ralph van Daal. Last August she has finished her service in the IDF, as an “outstanding musician”. During her service she was studying at the Buchmann – Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv University. In addition, Omer performs with orchestras and ensembles around the country, including Meitar Ensemble and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.
In the past year Omer had performed as a soloist with Tel Aviv Soloists Ensemble and played as part of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Kirill Petrenko, Andras Schiff and Vasily Petrenko. Omer is recipient of scholarships from the America Israel Cultural Foundation since 2011, “Lions Israel” scholarship in 2011 and Buchman – Heimann scholarship in 2014.
This year Omer is starting her studies at the “Barenboim-Said Akademie” in Berlin’ with Professor Gregor Witt.
