Yair Vardi

Yair Vardi is a theater maker, artistic director, lecturer, dramaturg, and lighting designer. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Theater and Choreography with honors from Dartington College of Art, UK, and a Master's degree in Choreography from HZT, UDK in Berlin. He served as the artistic director of the "Medorom Multidisciplinary Arts Festival" in Ofakim from 2020 to 2024. He was the head of the creators track and a lecturer in the Cultural Studies Department at Sapir Academic College from 2021 to 2026. He lectures at the Faculty of Arts at Seminar Kibbutzim College and at the Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem from 2022 to 2025. He curated the "March Rabbit" festival at the Keilim Center for Choreography in Bat Yam together with Anat Danieli from 2019 to 2020. He curated and served as artistic director of Tmuna Theater from 2012 to 2017. He was the artistic director of the "Intimadance" dance festival from 2013 to 2017. In 2005, he initiated and established the interdisciplinary performance festival "A-Genre" at Tmuna Theater and served as its curator from 2005 to 2017. As a dramaturg and artistic advisor, he has supported many artists and projects, including Ruth Kanner, Yoram Karmi, Noa Dar, Nataly Zuckerman, Niv Sheinfeld and Oren Laor, Marina Belatov, Talia Hoffman, and others. His works have been presented at Tmuna Theater, the Acco Festival, the "Taluy Bamakom Festival," the Home Theater, the Mandel Cultural Center, the Keilim Center in Bat Yam, Ufer Studios (Berlin), and Nilo Center (Iceland). As a lighting designer, Vardi has designed lighting for many festivals and artists across the spectrum of the arts, in galleries, theaters, public spaces, and stages around the world.
