Bass-baritone Yuri Kissin has delighted audiences worldwide with his rich, warm voice and
sensitive artistry. His upcoming engagements include Truffaldino (ARIADNE AUF NAXOS) with Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse, Bartolo (LE NOZZE DI FIGARO) with Opéra d’Avignon, First Nazarene (SALOME) with Israeli Opera (Tel Aviv), Sagrestano (TOSCA) with Opéra en Plein Air, Der Sprecher (DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE) with Opera in Williamsburg, and Figaro (LE NOZZE DI FIGARO) with Jerusalem Summer Opera Festival. Mr. Kissin was born in Russia and emigrated to Israel as a teenager.
He completed his education at the University of Tel Aviv and began his professional career with the New Israeli Opera and various Israeli orchestras. He currently lives in Paris and performs with many French companies, including Opéra National de Paris, Opéra Imperial de Compiegne, Opéra de Rennes, Théâtre Nimes, Opéra de Massy, Opéra de Rouen, Opéra National de Montpellier, Opéra National de Bordeaux, Opéra de Toulon, Opéra de Dijon, Opéra de Limoges, Opéra National de Lorraine à Nancy, Angers-Nantes Opéra, Opéra de Nice, Opéra National de Lyon, Opéra Théâtre de Metz and Théâtre des Champs Elysées. He has appeared abroad at the Perm State Opera (Russia), Teatro Real (Madrid), Slovenian National Theater of Maribor, the Michailovsky Theater (St. Petersburg), the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Opéra de Monte Carlo, Jerusalem Opera, Danish National Opera, and Småland Musik & Teater (Sweden), among others.
