Yuval Chen

Born in Israel in 1996, Yuval Chen began studying piano at age seven- studying for many years with Inna Rubin. From 2014 to 2018, studied with Prof. Asaf Zohar at the Buchmann- Mehta school of music at Tel-Aviv University. Currently studying with Prof. Veda Kaplinsky at the Juilliard School in Manhattan, NY.
He has performed as a soloist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra IBA, Ra’anana Symphonette, Ashdod Symphony Orchestra, The Beer Sheva Sinfonietta and on Kol HaMusica.
Yuval has participated in Courses and Master Classes such as The Aspen Music Festival and School, Tel Hai International Piano Master Classes, North London Music School, Young Piano Artists course for distinguished pianists, Aldwell Center, Jerusalem, taking Master Classes with Sir András Schiff, Murray Perahia, Menahem Pressler, Christoph Eschenbach, Prof. Veda Kaplinsky, Prof. Tatiana Zelikman, Prof. Michael Schnider, Prof. Suan Wang and Jerom Leventhal.
Prizes and Scholarships:
1st prize- the “Rafi Gorlnik” prize and The Audience Award in the Aviv competitions, AICF 2018
1st prize in the National Competition “Piano Forever”, Ashdod, 2015
2nd prize in the Voice of Music Young Artists Competition, Jerusalem, 2015
1st prize in the Ra’anana Municipal Competition for seven years.
Yuval has been granted a scholarship from the America- Israel Cultural Foundation for a number of years and a merit scholarship from 2014 until today.
