Rita Borodiansky – Screenwriter, Director, Casting Agent, and Film Teacher.
Born in Moscow, grow up in Akko and today she lives in Tel Aviv.
A Film studies graduate of the Camera Obscura School of Arts (an Engineer’s Certificate, currently completing her B.A at the Beit Berel College of Israel.
Borodiansky’s first film, Operator, was a 2016 Tribeca Film Festival Best Narrative Short nominee and has participated in many festivals around the world (Cannes, Sidney, LA, Chicago, and more). Furthermore, Borodiansky served as an envoy for the Palm Beach, Florida Jewish Agency in the festival.
Her graduation film, Till Cash Do Us Part (starring Albert Illouz, Esti Zakheim & Roberto Pollak) was the Best Short winner at the LA Comedy Festival 2019, nominated for the Best Short category at the Bulgarian Student Film Festival, and has participated in many other festivals worldwide.
Her third film, an adaptation inspired by Etgar Keret’s short story The Bus Driver Who Wanted to Be God, which she wrote and directed, was nominated for the Best Short category at the Sofia Independent Film Festival, Bulgaria – as well as in Italy, the US and more 2019-2020.
These days Borodiansky is working on Time Out, a short film, part of the feature Checkpoints – recently funded and soon to be filmed/go into production.
King of the Market – her first feature film – which has already won three awards at the 2018 Haifa Film Festival (under the International Pitching Forum), was accepted into the 2019 Cinema South development workshop “Produire Us Sud” as well the prestigious 2019 Nante, France workshop. The production is now being funded by the Galil Rabinowitz Fund. Producers: Asaf Nawi and Oren Rogovin.
Rita is currently developing her feature, “ The Checkpoints”, in cooperation with the Ananey Communication production company. Producer: Osnat Saraga. which has already Win second place at the 2020 Haifa Film Festival (under the International Pitching Forum) and The screenplay received a development grant from the New Israel Film Fund.
