Yoav Roth has made numerous public appearances throughout Israel, the United States (Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles) and Canada (online, within the Amadeus patron group event of the Calgary Philharmonic orchestra) – both as a piano soloist and as a chamber musician.
He won the first prize and audience favorite prize at the Tel-Hai International Piano Masterclasses Concerto Competition (2021) with Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto no. 1 and performed it with the Raanana Symphonette orchestra and the Jerusalem Symphony orchestra (2022). Yoav was also a multiple prize winner at piano competitions in Israel (2017-2022), including 1st prizes at the ‘Piano Forever’ and ‘Young Pianists’ competitions in 2022, and received the Stuart Holland Memorial Award at the MMB-2019 Masterclasses (Boston, USA). Yoav has been a regular recipient of the American-Israel Cultural Foundation excellence scholarships and currently participates at the Jerusalem Music Centre Piano program for outstanding young pianists mentored by Maestro Murray Perahia. He appeared in Radio and TV broadcasts and participated in master classes with prominent pianists such as Murray Perahia, Jerome Lowenthal, Peter Frankl, Pavlina Dokovska, Emanuel Krasovsky and many others.
Yoav began his piano studies at the Conservatory of the Jerusalem Academy of music and Dance with Ms. Alla Avrakh and is currently studying with Dr. Shir Semmel. In addition to his active performing schedule, Yoav also composes and studies under the guidance of Ms. Irena Svetova. In parallel, he participates in the 4-year Odyssey Program at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem for advanced high-school students focusing on the fields of Physics and Mathematics.
