About Alon Melnick

Alon Melnick was born in Holon, Israel. Alon began playing the trumpet at the age of 11. At the age of 16 he continued his studies with Ram Oren, trumpet player in the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.

At the age of 18 Alon joined the Israeli Defense force as a trumpet player. Upon finishing his military service, he began his studies for a Bachelor of Music degree at the Buchmann-Mehta Academy of Music in Tel Aviv, Israel in the class of Eran Reemy, trumpet player in the IPO as well.

Since finishing his studies, Alon plays frequently with most of Israel's chamber orchestras, While also serving as a full-time trumpet teacher and a band conductor. Alon is a faculty member of Petah-Tikva music conservatory, Givatayim conservatory , and Neve Sharet conservatory. Alon is an America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship recipient since 2008.
