Born in Israel in 1979, Alona Rodeh is a visual artist based in Berlin and Tel Aviv. Her cross-disciplinary work includes creating immersive environments that combine movement through light and sound, public art projects, sculpture, video works, publishing, and more. Since graduating her MFA at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design (Tel Aviv, 2009), Alona’s large scale sound and light installations, videos and sculptures have been widely exhibited among others at La Casa Encendida, Madrid; Museum Marta Heford, Germany; Kunstpalais, Erlangen Germany; Tel Aviv Museum of Art; Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin ; CCA Tel Aviv, Plug In ICA Winnipeg, Canada. Performances at Transmediale Festival, Berlin; Zacheta National Gallery, Warsaw; Swiss Pavilion, Venice Biennial and others.
Alona is also a scenographer, which enriches her practice as a visual artist. She works with various Dance companies (to name a few, Bat Sheva dance company, Yasmeen Godder) and Theater directors (Barrie Kosky, Yossi Waanunu, Ariel Efraim Ashbel: a long time collaborator, producing projects together since 2004.)
Awards and scholarships include AICF, Artis, Outset Israel, The Israeli Lottery Fund, The Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe, Goethe Institut, Stiftung Kunstfonds Bonn and others.
