Amir Rozei

Amir Rozei is a multidisciplinary artist. He was born in Haifa, Israel in 1985 and graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the WIZO Haifa Academy of Design and Education in 2014.
Between 2015-2016 Rozei interned at the Daniel Libeskind Studio in New York, and from there continued to pursue his career at the office of Ada Karmi in Tel Aviv.
In 2017 he introduced his design language: a men’s fashion collection in 2018 and a furniture collection in 2019. Both were presented in Tel Aviv during the “Open House” exhibition and in Italy in September 2021.
Starting in 2019, he began to work on his “Eretz Israel Collection.
Eretz Israel is the universe in which most of his artistic creations exist. This is a territory, which was created out of enormous detachment and does not stop traversing the range of detachment –belonging.
It is examined all the time, discussed, digging its historical layers, but often avoiding creating the future layers of this concept – Eretz Israel.
Sometimes, it seems that this concept relates to the here and now and the future is attempted to be covered by layers of the past.
By utilizing the conflicts that he tells, he bonds himself to it, to its physical, cultural and political diversity. The stories, have neither ending nor decision, only asking to create belonging.
The objects integrate the story that they portray and the practical function that they serve, holy and profane.
