Chen Holtzman

Chen Holtzman is an Israeli opera singer currently working with Meitar Opera Studio under the Israeli Opera. Among recently performed roles are Nerone (L’incoronazione di Poppea, Monteverdi), Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus, Strauss), 2nd Dame (Die Zauberflöte, Mozart), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro, Mozart), and Madam Flora (The Medium, Menotti).
Holtzman studied for her Master’s with Susanne Mentzer at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel-Aviv University under the tutelage of Prof. Sharon Rostorf-Zamir.
Other notable roles and appearances include Miss Todd (The Old Maid and the Thief, Menotti), Old Lady (Candide, Bernstein), Mother and Black Cat (L’enfant et les sortilèges, Ravel).
Chen is the recipient of multiple grants and competitions including the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Scholarship, 2nd prize in the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music Vocal Competition, and consecutive BMSM Excellence Scholarships.
