Emma Neulander

Emma was born in 2004 and lives in Israel. She is a student at Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts, in Givatayim. She has been playing the violin since 2011. For the first four years, she studied with Alexander Goldbaum at the Beer Sheva Conservatory. Currently, she is a student of Dr. Guy Figer at the Israeli Conservatory of Music (ICM) in Tel Aviv. Since 2011 Emma has been playing in string orchestras and in different ensembles of chamber music.
Emma is a member of the National Program for Excellence in Music, organized by the Jerusalem Music Center (JMC), an active player in the Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (YIPO), a member of the Huberman Program, a member of the Perlman-Genesis Music Project and a member of the Goldman Chamber Music Program for Outstanding Musicians, playing in various chamber formations – the recent year in a quartet. In June 2021, the quartet Emma participated in had the honor to play in the “Youth at the Centre” concert series founded by The Jerusalem Music Centre. The concert was broadcasted live by the Israeli National Radio station “Kol Hamusica”.
Emma performed several times as a soloist with the Beer Sheva Sinfonietta, for the first time at age 8. She also participated and played as a soloist in several music courses and festivals: Keshet Eilon music seminars, Ra’anana summer courses (Israel); MusicFest Perugia (Italy); Gopisberg Music Festival Spitz (Switzerland), Tefen Music Festival arranged by the Zimbalista Music Factory (Israel), NYU Summer String course (online, due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Emma participated in several masterclasses given by renowned artists such as Miriam Fried, Paul Biss, Grigory Kalinovsky, Hagai Shaham, Irena Svetlova, Alissa Margulis, Mariana Vasileva, Ani Schnarch, Patrizio Scarponi, Roni Spiegel, Martin Massan, Vera Vidman, Rachel Barton-Pine, David Grimal, Daniel Gaede, Itzhak Rashkovsky, Roi Shiloah, Ida Bieler, Alexander Kalashkov and Alexandra Conunova.
Along her musical journey, Emma has won several awards and scholarships: 1st Prize Scholarship (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017) of Beer Sheva Conservatory; Certificate of Appreciation (2015), High Scholarship (2017), and Excellence Scholarship (2019, 2021) of America-Israel Cultural Foundation; Encouragement Scholarship (2017, 2019), Excellence Scholarship (2018) and Outstanding Excellence Scholarship (2020) of The IMC Tel Aviv. Playing in ensembles, the quartet organized by the JMC and guided by Dr. Guy Figer won the 3rd place in the Israeli National Competition for Ensembles in Or-Yehuda, 2017; and the ensemble organized by the ICM and guided by Dr.Guy Figer won the 2nd place in Israeli National Competition “Leah Porat-Gur”, in Nes Tziona, 2019.
