Eyal Maoz

Eyal Maoz, composer, solo performer, ensembles leader, Tzadik and Ayler Records artist and a member of John Zorn’s Cobra and Abraxas, performed the United States, Europe Asia and the Middle East.
Based in New York City, his ensemble Edom just released a new album at the Radical Jewish Culture series at Tzadik Records. His ensembles performed at major music festivals worldwide such as the Montreal Jazz Festival, Red Sea International Jazz Festival, NYC 2007 Winter JazzFest, the New York Jewish Music and Heritage Festival, Nublu Jazz Festival in NYC and more. He was featured on MTV and NPR.
Eyal was recently invited to create a musical program with notable Israeli poet Ronny Someck in Italy, to rave reviews. Eyal’s string quartets are performed by the Praxis String Quartet, and he recently completed numerous works, including The X for String Quartet and Effected Guitar, Paar for Choir, Insight / Outsight for Flute, Piano and Saxophone, The Circle for Solo Piano, and Fanveil for String Quartet.
