Naama Levit

Naama Levit was Born in Jerusalem, Israel. Lives and works between Tel-Aviv and Brooklyn, USA.
Levit received her BFA in Jewelry Design from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, Israel, and her MFA in metal art from Cranbrook Academy Of Art, Michigan, USA.
As a chef and a Jeweler, Naama finds deep interest in materials and their potential for transformation. The act of being—acting and interacting throughout space—requires constant transformation and multiplicity. In her eyes, bodies and spaces are a metabasis. It is that flexuated, uncanny existence her work is striving to capture and represent.
Through her sculptural compositions and objects, Naama aspires to challenge the rigidity of convention by shifting familiar forms, displacing and re-constructing everyday objects and materials. She works in different mediums ranging from Jewelry and objects, installation, performance, sculpture and photography.
Her work has been exhibited internationally and in Israel’s leading museums. She received the AIDA award for outstanding achievement in the field of craft, the Mercedes Benz emerging artist award for 2020, and was selected as one of the designers in residence for 2021 in EMMA creative center, Pforzheim, Germany.
She currently lives in Brooklyn and juggles between teaching Jewelry design, cooking, and working in the studio.
