Oded Geizhals

Oded Geizhals is a multi-disciplinary musician who specializes in contemporary classical music and improvisation. He has played concerts in Israel, Europe, North and South America and the Asia. He is active in the new music scene and has played in premieres, including works written especially for him. He is a member of the Israel Contemporary Players.
Oded has played with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, Neues Orchester Basel, Collegium Musicum Basel, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Israeli Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion, The Israeli Camerata Jerusalem and The Kibbutz-Netanya Chamber Orchestra. He performed with early music ensembles as Profeti della Quinta, Barrocade, Phoenix, Mezmor LeDavid and Tourterelles.
He has performed in the theater productions of “Billy Schwartz” (Haifa Theater), “Gorodish” (Cameri Theater of Tel Aviv), “My Fair Lady” (Habima National Theater) and in the children’s play “Blue Tune with Curls” and “If I Suddenly Meet a Lion”. In popular music he played and recorded with Eran Zur, Yehonatan Geffen, Keren Peles and appeared on TV show’s “The Voice”, “London et Kirschenbaum” and Lior Schleien’s “Gav Hauma”.
Oded won the first prize at the 2013 competition for performing contemporary music at Tel Aviv University, the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Scholarship (2010-2015) and the Siday Fellowship for Musical Creativity, through the Jerusalem Institute of Contemporary Music (2017-2019).
Oded holds two master degrees from the Academy of Music in Basel, Switzerland; master in percussion performance under Matthias Würsch and a specialized master in contemporary music under Mike Svoboda, Marcus Weiss and Jürg Henneberger. He studied for a bachelor’s degree at the Tel Aviv University under Alon Bor. His main percussion teachers are Genia Maistrovsky, Tomer Yariv, Christian Dierstein and Robyn Schulkowsky.
