About Peleg-Mercedes Matityahu

Peleg Mercedes Matityahu was born in Jerusalem, Israel in 1992.

Peleg graduated from Shenkar - college of art, design, and engineering in Israel with a B.Des in jewelry design.

Her works is a reflection of her personal journey, based on a traumatic head injury that ultimately resulted in short-term memory loss. By consistent repetition in the manner of work, she creates wearable artworks.

Peleg’s work has been exhibited internationally right after graduation in 2021 at the International Graduate Show of Galerie Marzee. She has been awarded the Marzee Graduate prize.

Peleg received the AICF scholarship for outstanding achievement in the field of jewelry.

Her work has also been exhibited at Dream Machine during NYC Jewelry week 2021, at A-Gallery in Tallinn, Estonia 2022, and at the first Brussels Jewelry week (BJW) exhibition.

She currently lives in Amsterdam as one of the artists in residence for Intro gallery by Galerie Marzee.
