Tom Yaron Meyerson
Tom Yaron Meyerson was born in Tel Aviv in 1997.
He began playing trumpet at age 7. He started playing the tuba in 2008. He studied tuba with Shai Buxbaum, Avital Handler, Yuval Zolotov and Ariel Sasson.
Tom has graduated in excellence from the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts.
He was supported by “Ronen Foundation” in the years 2013-2015, and was a member of the “Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra” between the years 2014-2016
In 2014 he was also accepted to the Arab-Jewish Orchestra, conducted by Professor Taiseer Elias.
Since 2015, Tom has been studying with Shmuel Adi Hershko (IPO), at the “Buchmann-Mehta” school of music at Tel Aviv University. He is a member of the Academia’s orchestras. During his studies he participates in the IPO projects.
Tom received an excellence scholarship from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, for 2015-2016, and Additional scholarship for 2017/2018.
In 2016, Tom won a prize at the Kfar-Saba Brass Competition
Tom participated in master classes with Øystein Baadsvik and Wolfgang Tischhart.
Tom performs as a freelancer player with several orchestras and bands in Israel.
In August 2017, Tom played at the “Sounding Jerusalem Festival” organized by “Austrian Music Encounter”, and in September he will fly to Austria to play another project commissioned by the “Austrian Music Encounter”
