    Yael Shavitt is an Israeli born and raised actress, currently based in New York.

    She’s performed at the Public Theater with Obie Award winners 600 HIGHWAYMEN in The Record, and understudied (& performed) the title role in Yentl with Beautiful Soup Theater. Yael is a Founding Member of the theater collective Asylos. She co-created and performed in Asylos’ Woolgatherers (Frigid Festival), Crystal Jukebox Hymn (created from texts by Bob Dylan), and the immersive piece Out of the Ash (devised from Sylvia Plath texts).

    Yael plays a lead role in the indie feature Delenda (Sarasota Film Festival). She is also the creator and lead actress of the web series Split (Blow-Up Arthouse International Film Festival), a show about two possible paths that one life might take. splitthewebseries.com

    Following her service in the IDF’s Intelligence Corps, Yael co-created the documentary feature film iF YOU PULL NORTH (Jerusalem Jewish Film Festival).

    She is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (NYC) and the Thelma Yellin School of the Arts (Israel), with additional training from MN Acting Studio and UCB.
