Yael Alkalay

Yael is a Fulbright scholar, she holds a Master in Fine Arts from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and a B.DES cum laude from the Bezalel Academy of Arts & Design in Jerusalem. She was a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab and a visiting artist at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in NYC.
Yael is a multidisciplinary artist, her work articulates issues significant to women’s lives and voice in the digital world. She explores women’s expressions across virtual and physical boundaries, across private and public spaces, and within conscious and spontaneous social online interactions.
Over the last few years Yael has received a number of excellence awards, including UNESCO, America-Israel Cultural Foundation, Bezalel, The Israel Community of Designers and more. Yael is passionate about art, design, and technology.
Yael won AICF scholarships in 2007-2009.
